Meet our Swedish CTO, Manfred Ekblad. A graduate from Lund University with a degree in Informatics, he started his career as a systems developer at various software houses in Sweden. He was made Chief Product Officer (CPO) at Lj Systemutveckling AB in 2007. Manfred is full stack developer that specializes in growth hacking.
He moved to Indonesia in 2010 and worked as a general manager for PT.Biztech Indonesia in Bandung, where he worked until 2015. He began his entrepreneurial debut as co-founder of Online Business Indonesia on December 2011, where he provides workshops and training for entrepreneurs who wanted to go online. It was followed by being co-founder of BWI Press in 2013, initially focusing on providing outsourcing services to customers all over the world. After a few years, the business shifted focus towards developing and owning software products and various SaaS platforms, which led to Manfred getting involved in the startup ecosystem in South East Asia. This focus on SaaS led Manfred to become co-founder of Astronaut with Nigel Hembrow in 2015.
Manfred has more than 15 years of startup experience in Fintech, HR Tech and Marketing Tech. As a Techpreneur, Manfred loves coaching and mentoring other tech startups. While CTO at Astronaut, he is also the VP of Technology at Pintek, a financial startup focused on educational financing and loans.
