Johannes Purba (JP) is Astronaut’s Product Team Lead. This product whiz kid is tasked with making a significantly significant impact on the product development team through streamlining and prioritizing the development of Astronaut’s features that will be used by our global clients. His job is to guarantee that the product used by the recruiter is simple, effective, and efficient in digitalizing the recruitment process.

Graduated from Kalbis Institute with a degree in Informatics Engineering. As someone who struggles with communication, JP challenged himself to pursue a position where he would meet and speak with a large number of people. He started out as an Account Manager for Pegipegi.com, where his primary responsibility was to recruit and teach hoteliers how to utilize the company’s travel platform. Communication and cross-divisional collaboration have become his primary tools for accomplishing his objectives.

Since then, he has been entrusted as Product Manager for several giant tech companies from diverse industries such as logistics, insurance, and property. He loves taking on new challenges such as market research and managing teams in several divisions.

When the pandemic hit, JP took a break and learned how to become an independent farmer. Coming from someone who constantly pushes himself, this is hardly surprising.

JP has a knack for Big cars and big bikes, especially Formula One and MotoGP. He is hooked on it, as the joy of being a Formula One or MotoGP fan is not just on the race day, but also in seeing the team evolve. He enjoys analyzing his favorite teams, starting with how they train, manage the businesses, and how they grow and innovate to win competitions.

As a Product Team Lead at Astronaut, being a detail-oriented individual is one of the most important success factors in developing an effective and practical product. JP is concerned with minor details because he believes in “The person who is trustworthy in very small matters is also trustworthy in great ones.” Luke 16:10
